A large multidisciplinary museum with galleries of California art, history, and natural sciences offering family-focused experiences; it includes a permanent nature playspace for ages 2–5, a kids activity guide, changing stations, a cafe with a kids menu, free garden areas, Gallery Chats included with admission, and recurring First Sundays (free). Garage hours 06:00AM–07:00PM; open late until 09:00PM on Thursdays (Jan–Mar) and until 10:00PM on Fridays (Apr–Oct). Members receive discount with validation; ADA and family/stroller parking on top level. Additional paid parking nearby, including Alco Parking Garage (165 13th St); bike parking available on-street and limited covered spaces in garage.

Rules
* No food or drinks are allowed in the galleries; sealed food or drink may be kept in a bag or purse. * Backpacks and large items must be checked, worn on the front, or carried at your side; free day-use lockers are available. Oversized items cannot be stored. * Only pencils are permitted in the galleries; pens and other art materials are prohibited. * No selfie-sticks, tripods, or mono-pods are allowed inside the museum. * Photography for personal non-commercial use is allowed. * Breastfeeding and bottle-feeding are permitted in all spaces; infant feeding items should remain under adult control. * Service animals are allowed in all public areas provided they do not pose a direct threat or fundamentally alter museum operations.
