Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge

A narrow sand spit extending into the Strait of Juan de Fuca, popular for multi-mile hikes and seabird viewing. Rules

* Note that dogs are not allowed on the spit. * No alcoholic beverages or marijuana allowed in the park per State laws. (RCW 66.44.100 and RCW.69.50.445) * Pets must remain on a leash, no longer than eight feet, at all times. Pet handlers must properly dispose of pet waste in a dumpster. (C.C.C. 23.03.070) * Persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to camp overnight. (C.C.C. 23.03.040) * Some portions are closed seasonally or permanently to protect sensitive species. * To ensure that wildlife continues to have a peaceful place to rest and feed, certain recreational activities such as swimming, jogging, and other beach activities are allowed only in selected areas during certain times of the year. * Pets, bicycles, kite flying, frisbees, flying machines, ball-playing, camping, and fires are not permitted in the Refuge as they are a disturbance for the many migrating birds and other wildlife taking solitude on the Refuge.
