Montalvo Arts Center

Set on 100+ acres of expansive gardens and woodland trails, this cultural center features permanent outdoor artworks, a Great Lawn, and shaded areas ideal for families with young children. Visitors can stroll trails, view outdoor art, enjoy open lawns, and have picnics; the grounds are free to visit.

Free · Parking lot · On-site parking Lots 1–4 (Lot 1 at entry, Lots 2–4 near the Villa). Parking is generally free, but parking fees may be charged for certain special events and some concert performances (parking passes may be sold in advance or at the gate). For some events Montalvo provides free West Valley College parking (14000 Fruitvale Ave, entrance to Lot 1 off Allendale Avenue) with shuttle; if offered it will be noted on event pages. If shuttles are not noted for an event, parking will be on site at Montalvo.

Rules

* Areas of the grounds and parking lots may be closed for private events or programming; check the Plan a Visit page for closures before visiting. * Picnics are allowed (bring blankets); there are no picnic tables or on-site barbecues. * Prom photography is prohibited on the grounds during weekends (Friday–Sunday) and will be enforced. * Drive slowly through the estate; many visitors (including children and the elderly) walk the grounds. * Dogs must be on leash on trails and paths and owners must clean up after them. * Dogs are not allowed at festivals and other ticketed events (service animals are allowed).
