UC Botanical Garden at Berkeley

A living museum across 34 acres with diverse plant collections, the garden has paved paths and varied terrain suited to family exploration. Amenities include docent-led weekend tours, family workshops, and an on-site garden shop. Children 4 and under visit free; Museums for All EBT discounts, member, and UC-affiliate free entry are available.

Paid · Parking lot · UC Berkeley–managed parking lot directly across the street; rate $1.50 per hour. Pay by license plate at machine or via PayByPhone app (location #9431). Parking is limited; accessible spaces available. Free overflow shuttle runs certain busy weekends/holidays between the Garden and Lawrence Hall of Science (check signs/calendar). Three accessible (blue) spaces available; blue placard required to use them.

Rules

* Pets are not allowed in the Garden; only trained service dogs are permitted and must check in at the entrance. * Stay on paths and out of garden beds; do not climb rocks or enter water features. * Smoking and use of electronic cigarettes are prohibited on campus. * Bicycles, skateboards, and recreational sports equipment are not allowed inside the Garden. * Drones and amplified sound from instruments or devices are prohibited. * No balloons of any kind are allowed in the Garden. * All children must be included in reservations even if their admission is free; reservations are recommended. * Alcohol is not permitted in the Garden. * Small family photo sessions (up to 6 persons) are allowed with admission for every guest.
