Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 11, 2026
Enjoyable, Inc. ("Enjoyable", "we", "us") makes Scout, a mobile and web application that helps parents and other adult caregivers find and plan family activities. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. By using Scout, you agree to this Policy.
Who can use Scout
Scout is intended for adults who are at least 18 years old. Children do not use Scout, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Parents and other adult caregivers may add information about the children in their family (such as a name or nickname and approximate age) so that Scout can suggest age-appropriate activities. See "Information about children" below.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- • Account information — email address when you sign up, and first name and last name when you set up your profile. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a limited identifier and the email address associated with that provider.
- • Home location — the address you save as your home, including its street address and approximate latitude and longitude.
- • Family information — the names or nicknames and approximate ages of the children in your family that you choose to add, the avatar you select for each profile (avatars are illustrations bundled with the app; we do not collect or store photos), and the names and email addresses of other adult caregivers you invite to your family.
- • Communications — the contents of any message you send us, for example when you tap "Send feedback".
Information we collect automatically
- • Device location — if you grant the location permission and tap a control that uses your location (for example, "Use my current location" during onboarding or place search), Scout reads your device's current location while the app is in the foreground. Scout does not access your location in the background. You can change or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
- • Usage and device information — pages or screens you view, taps and other interactions, the time and duration of your session, app version, operating system and version, device model, language, time zone, and IP address. We use this for product analytics, debugging, and feature flags.
- • Session recordings — to understand how features are used and to investigate problems, we record sessions inside the app (the screens you visit, taps, scrolls, and on-screen text and images). Recordings are stored by our analytics provider (PostHog) and retained for a limited period.
- • Push tokens — if you turn on push notifications, we store a device-specific push token so we can send you notifications. You can turn notifications off at any time from your account settings or your device settings.
- • Diagnostic and error data — when Scout encounters an error, we collect the error details and a small amount of context, including the screen or URL you were on, the request that failed, and (for errors that happen while you are signed in) your account identifier, so we can investigate and fix the problem.
Information we do not collect
Scout does not request access to your camera, photos, microphone, contacts, calendar, or health data, and we do not collect payment card numbers or financial account information.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- • Provide and operate Scout, including authenticating you, saving your family and home settings, and recommending activities suited to your family.
- • Send you transactional and product communications, such as account verification emails and the push notifications you have enabled.
- • Improve Scout — fixing bugs, measuring how features perform, running A/B tests, and understanding which features parents find useful.
- • Keep Scout safe — detecting and preventing abuse, fraud, and violations of our Terms.
- • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with the service providers that power Scout, with other people in your Scout family in the limited ways described below, and where required by law.
Service providers (subprocessors)
We use the following service providers to operate Scout. Each handles information only on our instructions and under contract.
- • Clerk — account creation, sign-in, and session management.
- • PostHog — product analytics, session recording, feature flags, and error tracking.
- • Sentry — server-side error monitoring. When a request you make to Scout fails, we send the error and limited context (including your account identifier and the request URL) to Sentry so we can diagnose the problem.
- • Expo — over-the-air app updates and delivery of push notifications.
- • Apple — Sign in with Apple, Apple Push Notification service, Apple Maps on iOS, and distribution through the App Store.
- • Google — Sign in with Google, Firebase Cloud Messaging for push delivery on Android, Google Maps on Android, and distribution through Google Play.
- • Mapbox — place search and reverse geocoding, driving directions and travel-time estimates between your location and an activity, static map preview images for activities, and map rendering on the web app.
- • LocationIQ — address autocomplete and place lookup.
- • HERE — driving-time isolines computed from your home location, used to decide which activities are close enough to suggest.
- • Open-Meteo — weather forecasts and air-quality data for the coordinates of activities (and, where applicable, your home), used to enrich activity recommendations.
- • Amazon Web Services — hosting of Scout's servers and data, in the United States.
Other adult caregivers in your family
When you join or invite someone to a Scout family, the adults in that family can see one another's first name and avatar, the children registered in the family, and the family's home address. Anyone you invite using an invitation code can see the same family information once they join.
Legal and safety
We may share information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, legal process, or government request, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Enjoyable, our users, or the public. If Enjoyable is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, we may transfer information as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell or share your information for advertising
Scout does not sell personal information for money, and we do not share personal information with advertising networks for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising. Scout does not contain third-party advertising. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals on our web app as a valid opt-out of any future "sale" or "sharing" as those terms are defined under California law.
Where we store information
Scout's servers and databases are operated in the United States. If you use Scout from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
How long we keep information
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize the personal information associated with your profile within 30 days, except where we need to retain limited records to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Product analytics and session recordings are retained by PostHog for up to 30 days and then deleted. Backups containing personal information are rotated and overwritten on a regular schedule.
How we protect information
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, restricted access, and authentication tokens stored in your device's secure storage. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and controls
- • Account — you can update your name, email, and connected sign-in methods from My Family > Manage account.
- • Push notifications — you can turn push notifications on or off from My Family, or change them in your device settings.
- • Location — you can grant or revoke the location permission at any time in your device settings. Scout works without location access; you can search for places by typing.
- • Delete your account — you can permanently delete your account from My Family > Delete account, or by emailing hello@scout.kids.
Information about children
Scout is designed for adult caregivers, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under 13. Adult caregivers may choose to add a name or nickname, approximate age, and illustrated avatar for each child in their family so that Scout can suggest age-appropriate activities. We use this information only to operate Scout. We do not use it to advertise to anyone, and we do not share it with third parties except with the service providers listed above that help us run Scout.
If you are a parent or guardian and you would like us to delete the information you have entered about a child, you can remove the child from your family in the app, or email us at hello@scout.kids. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us directly, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your California privacy rights
This section applies to California residents and is provided under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA").
Categories of personal information
In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information, from the sources and for the purposes described in this Policy:
- • Identifiers — name, email address, account ID, device identifiers, IP address.
- • Customer records (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.80(e)) — name and email associated with your account.
- • Internet or other electronic network activity — pages and screens viewed, interactions, session recordings, and diagnostic data.
- • Geolocation data — your home address and, if you enable it, your device's foreground location. Precise geolocation is treated as "sensitive personal information" under California law.
- • Inferences — inferences drawn from the above to recommend activities for your family.
We collect this information from you, from your device, and from the sign-in providers and service providers listed above. We use it for the business purposes described under "How we use information" and share it only with the recipients described under "How we share information".
Sensitive personal information
The only category of "sensitive personal information" we collect is precise geolocation, and only when you opt in by granting the location permission and using a feature that requests your current location. We use precise geolocation solely to provide the feature you requested. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that, under California law, would give you a right to limit such use.
Sale and sharing
In the past 12 months, we have not sold personal information for money and we have not "shared" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of California residents under 16.
Your rights
Subject to certain exceptions, California residents have the right to:
- • Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and (if applicable) sell or share, and request a copy.
- • Delete personal information we have collected from you.
- • Correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do neither).
- • Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information (we do not use it for purposes that would trigger this right).
- • Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any of these rights.
How to exercise your rights
To make a request, email us at hello@scout.kids with the subject line "California Privacy Request". We will verify your request by matching the email address you write from to the one on your Scout account, or by asking for additional information if needed. We will respond within 45 days, and may extend that period by an additional 45 days if reasonably necessary, with notice to you. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we will require written proof of authorization and may require you to verify your identity with us directly.
"Shine the Light"
California's "Shine the Light" law (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.83) permits California residents to request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for those third parties' direct marketing purposes. We do not make such disclosures.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when this Policy was last revised.
