Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI)

A local history museum in Seattle offers hands-on exhibits and programs designed for young children and caregivers. Visitors can drop in at the Idea Lab for rotating self-guided activities inspired by regional innovations, with videos and downloadable instructions for crafts or experiments. Free exploration packs (ages 3–7) and innovation packs (ages 6–10), available in English and Spanish at the front desk, include games, storybooks and gallery hunts to guide family visits. In the Kid-Struction Zone (ages 2–7), children build with Duplo blocks, Magna Tiles and foam bricks, practice design at a felt table and explore simple engineering with a magnetic ball-and-pipe board.
